Awards for women scientists

Bertha Benz Award

The Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz Foundation annually publishes the Bertha Benz Award for young German women scientists in the field of engineering. The award adresses women scientists who have received their PhD during the last 12 months and whose thesis has been marked with "summa cum laude".

Candidates cannot apply independently but must be recommended by a university or an independent research institute.

FEBS/EMBO Women in Science Award 

The aim of the award is to highlight the major contributions made by female scientists to life sciences research.  Candidates have to be nominated by a third person. The award each year grants €10 000 to a woman scientist who has made significant contributions to her field of science during the last 5 years.
