ERC AdG Call 2020 opened

The EU has published a new call for ERC Advanced grants.
Application Deadline: 26 August 2020.

The ERC Advanced Grants (ERC AdG) targets outstanding senior researchers of any nationality who have a track record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years. The grant covers personnel costs of a research group and all further costs related to conducting a pioneering (ground-breaking) research project.
 
Funding: 2.5 million Euro for up to 5 years (or 500,000 Euro p.a.), in specific cases up to 3.5 million Euro.
It is expected that P.I. are able to demonstrate, via their track records (publications, awards and prizes, funding ID), a high researcher profile. The evaluation is based on scientific excellence only and will be conducted in a single stage, but two-steps procedure.
 
The 2020 call budget is 492m €, which may allow to fund a total of ca. 190-215 projects.
